All alone

All alone and it's Friday 13th and I'm going to the dentist - woe is me. My hubby is on his annual motorbike trip in Spain with his friends, my daughter has gone camping in France to watch the Le Mans race and even my nephew and brother are abroad this week. I intend to spend my time trying to catch up on everything before our holiday to Cyprus at the beginning of July. I am doing my best to sell, sell, sell. I have way too much stock and really don't want to leave all my little friends in my daughter's capable (not so capable) hands. I hope some more people will decide to pop in this weekend but as I write this I only have a couple of visitors coming tomorrow. Sales have been good but not quite good enough this week. I am putting lots of items on 'super special offer' and I certainly think (hope) it will help shift stock next week.

I have had a number of millipedes arrive this week but that's it now. I absolutely must stop buying! Only yesterday I was offered two lots of tarantulas and some Jungle Nymph stick insects but I said "no, not until I get back". Things continue to breed though, one of my Trinidad Olive tarantula egg sacs hatched a couple of days ago. The babies are so cute.

I have had some lovely reviews submitted on my website recently. I swear these are all real reviews from real people, I haven't altered them and I am not related to these people (as far as I know). I have also had some really nice emails. I haven't heard from any cyber warriors in a long time, thank goodness, they really are a pet hate of mine. The last one that I recall sent me a rambling email about the order he had received. He was complaining about everything from the size of the spiders to the size of the label on the box and the fact that the box was upside down when he received it. It just goes to show that you can't please absolutely everyone, however hard I try!

We had a family barbecue for our daughter's birthday recently and afterwards some of our forks went missing. The finger of suspicion fell firmly on my niece's 3 year old, he was seen throwing several items into our pond but when questioning the kids I loved the fact that Katie (just turned 8) thought I might find them in my rainforest! I'm still not sure which part of my garden she regards as the 'rainforest' but I thought it sounded great and it certainly made me laugh. I do love plants as well as animals and spend a fair amount of time on the garden but I just can't keep up with it and I must admit it is a bit of a jungle but it is also a wildlife haven. We have several ponds and after school yesterday my nephew's girls and I did some pond dipping. We found a multitude of newts and some huge dragonfly nymphs as well as lots of other, smaller creepy crawlies.

Someone has actually ordered some bugs and paid by Pingit this week. I have had Pingit set up for months but nobody has chosen it as a payment option before. Most people pay via PayPal but I would obviously prefer Pingit or bank transfer as there are no fees for me to pay!

Well, I had better get a move on, off to walk Teddi, then the dentist and then I have a lot of hungry little mouths to feed when the post turns up and my weekly cricket order arrives. Hopefully it will arrive today, delivery sometimes takes two days and I never know what time the mail is being delivered as it is totally haphazard here (the joys of living in the country). I hope it doesn't arrive while I am out, it generally comes around lunch time so that's what I am banking on. It is so much more difficult since my lovely neighbour moved last month. She was almost always in, was happy to receive my parcels and was never phased if they rustled or squeaked a bit.

If you are at a loose end this weekend give me call (I will be keeping my phone on) and do pop over and get some new bugs!
