A week with my new website

Wow what a week, I have learnt so much! My new website has been up and running for almost seven days (I am writing this blog a day early as I will be busy with my mother in-law tomorrow), I have been toiling away behind the scenes to get to grips with everything. My web guy is brilliant and the new site certainly seems to be a great success. I was inundated with orders last weekend, I had the first Monday in ages when I had more orders than I could get off in one day. You can probably tell, I am really chuffed to bits and long may it last. Things have slowed a little over the last couple of days but it is the end of the month and generally the time when people are waiting for pay day. I have of course purchased a lot of new stock this month and on Sunday I will be at a reptile show purchasing even more. All the cages and boxes that have been vacated this week will soon be filled again! I have pre-ordered some spiders and scorpions. There will hopefully be some new millipedes, I am...

My new website has gone live!

Eek! My new website went live yesterday evening. To say I am in a flap would be an understatement (I didn't get much sleep), it all looks so different. I haven't had time to try and 'work it' yet but I think today will be stressful. I have several orders in my inbox, some need processing via my old website and some are now on the new site. I can see so many things that I don't like about the layout but it will take time to change. It isn't easy to sort things over the phone but my web guy lives about 100 miles from me so we will have to work it out. He is really good and I know he has spent hours on it but I am not good at explaining what I want. I am such a control freak that I just want to sort...

Busy, busy after the show!

Busy, busy after the show! The AES exhibition last weekend was really fun. I got to meet lots of people that I had only corresponded with by email or spoken to on the phone. I can't say I spent a great deal of time on my stand as I had many things to buy, organise and much chatting to do. Hubby was stuck on the stand and managed to shift quite a few stick insects, which was the aim of having tables this year. Stick insect sales have fallen dramatically recently and I do not intend to spend all winter scrambling around trying to find fresh bramble for them. That said, I probably will as I still have way too many and some nice new ones that I do want to hang onto and breed. I managed to get some Leaf insects at last, I only wish I had bought more as they are selling fast. It has been a great week for sales but I did spend a large amount of money at the show and of course I also got a supply of giant beetles beforehand. It is always nice to see the regular 'old' faces as wel...
