Our puppy is lovely but my goodness she is a lot of work

Our puppy is lovely but my goodness she is a lot of work. Teddi Bear follows me everywhere and then whenever I stop moving, she sits at my feet. She won't go out in the garden alone and is terrified of the hoover. She chews everything and chases my poor old cat when I'm not looking. What have we done! Last Sunday we had our burglar alarm fitted so hopefully I will stop being so worried about the recent spate of burglaries in our village. I'm still looking at every white van driver with suspicion (I never realised there were so many around). Our daughter's exams are over until the summer, thank goodness. I can remind her now that Teddi is actually hers, life will be easier once the puppy has had her vaccinations and can go out. We have enrolled at puppy training classes. It's been a quiet week sales wise, it seems to be all or nothing with my work. I'm either rushed off my feet or panicking that I've got no orders. Hopefully things will improve next week as ...

Well it's the 21st today but sadly not of March

Well it's the 21st today but sadly not of March, yes I am obsessed with better weather in the Spring time. The weather has been horribly wet but not too cold most of the week here. I have had lots of parcels to get off, I couldn't do any posting on Wednesday as we drove to Swindon to pick up new puppy. Her name is Teddi and she is a Eurasier (I know nobody has heard of them). She is absolutely adorable, very laid back and happy until she is left! We haven't had much sleep the last couple of nights due to her howling downstairs. March 21st is also significant as the day that our kitchen is being fitted. We had a top floor put on our bungalow several years ago and the kitchen was left in a grotty state, it was already pretty grotty when we moved in. We are delighted to at last have got things sorted (not least finances) and the end is in sight. We will be putting up a barrier to stop Teddi getting into the new kitchen, we have already discovered that she likes to chew everyt...

What a busy week

What a busy week and thank goodness after a disastrous December. The weather is very mild here at the moment, we actually have double digits, i.e. 12c. It makes me think of Spring but there are still 66 days to go (oh I wish I hadn't counted!). All is well with the bugs, the baby Rock scorpions have left their mother's back and seem to be fine living independently. I have more Barking Birdeater spiderlings than I know what to do with. The Giant Huntsman spiders are growing well and they will happily devour anything that I drop into their container. It is amazing to see the speed they move at, when hunting an active fly or cricket. I have a horrible feeling that my two remaining Fishing spiders are both female. They look absolutely identical to me but I think they still have one more moult to go so there is a still a glimmer of hope that I will end up with a breeding pair. I noticed this week that some of my Ethiopian crickets were looking a little tatty. On further inspection ...

Happy New Year

Happy New Year and I hope everyone had a good Christmas. I have had lots of catching up to do this week but I think I'm pretty organised now, all orders placed over the festive season have been sent out. It was such a shame to have to stop posting orders so early before Christmas but the weather made it impossible to continue. Royal Mail only resumed their next day delivery guarantee after Christmas, the service was removed on December 1st. We had a good Christmas and New Year but we did need to be towed up our road on Christmas day! The car wheels were spinning on the thick ice and we were going nowhere until a neighbour came along with a 4x4 vehicle and offered to tow us out of the close. We made it to our son's house in time for lunch. I spent a fair amount of time over the festive period caring for the bugs. Obviously without being able to send them out before Christmas I had a far larger number than I would usually have at this time. On Christmas day one of my Flat Rock s...
