First monthly blog post!

First monthly blog post! If you have been reading my regular weekly blogs you will realise that I have had to make changes this year. Honestly, there just isn’t enough of me to go around and I’m not getting any younger but worse than that my relatives are definitely getting older and needing more care from me and therefore more precious time. I’m pleased with the progress that I have already made. I have finally managed to get Ginny’s Jungle off the ground. Half term was incredibly busy. I visited a care home, made a second appearance on local radio and the long awaited ‘animal handling’ event at my local library was such a hit that people were literally queuing out the door! About 200 people turned up, hopefully it will really put us on the map. I say we as my daughter helped out as did a teenage friend. We were all rushed off our feet. I have plenty of special offers running on the site right now as I am cutting back on those bugs that take extra care and those that I just have too m...

Short blog or no blog?

Short blog or no blog? That is the question, hopefully the answer is that a short blog is better than no blog at all! I have lots on with both the postal business and Ginny’s Jungle, thankfully they are going well and working in unison as I hoped would happen one day. It seems ‘one day’ has finally arrived. I have been trying to get my local events off the ground for a couple of years but it wasn’t until this year that I decided I had to make time to promote it. If I wasn’t going to do it, then nobody else was. Each Wednesday is now “Ginny’s Jungle Day”. This week I went on the local radio (you may have seen on Facebook). It was great fun, everyone was lovely, I didn’t realise that it was going to be filmed for YouTube (good job I put some makeup on and brushed my hair). I also wore some of my ‘bug’ birthday gifts for luck! I still haven’t listened to it but I will and I’m back on a different show next Thursday evening. My hubby listened and said I was great (could he be a little biase...

My birthday was lovely

My birthday was lovely, thanks for all your best wishes. I was thoroughly spoilt and really enjoyed it! My Costa Rican themed party was brilliant. I have posted several times on my Facebook page in the last few days, I consider the whole week to be my birthday week and tomorrow I have some girlfriends coming over for another get-together. I had many ‘bug themed’ presents. A beautiful charm bracelet and matching earrings from my hubby (amazingly crafted silver jewellery, with a vast range of bugs from Emma Keating – do look her up www.emmmakeatingjewellery.co.uk , we met Emma at the recent SEAS show in Kent), a fantastic sign for my bug room from my long-time friend Karen, a Laura Ashley blouse with bumble bees, a White Company top with Bumble bees, a pretty scarf with Bumble bees and exquisite Ted Baker Bumble bee earrings. There seems to bee a theme here (oh how I wish I could add emojis to this blog lol). Enough of my birthday (for now). I am still restocking, even though the bug roo...
