Holiday approaching fast and it can't come soon enough, actually I have so much to get ready before we go that I'm at that panic stage and wish I had another week to prepare all the animals. It's amazing how it always gets done in the end! This will be my last blog before we jet off to Cyprus next weekend, I will be too busy packing and sorting out the bugs to write a blog on Friday. Everything is thriving in the bug room and I am continuing in my crusade to make more time for worthwhile things and spend less time on the bugs that nobody wants. I still haven't plucked up the courage to get rid of my huge 'mixed stick insect' cage but I am getting closer as the holiday approaches. I'm sure it is the right thing to do but there will be tears (yes, honestly). I love stick insects but they take hours of care and make pennies! Lots of sunshine this week and much warmer weather too - long may it last! I'm dreaming of my holiday in a couple of weeks time and very pleased with the way the stock clearance is going. It's been a busy week and I have sent out a large number of orders. I've had some really positive feedback about the direction that my business is going in. It seems arachnids are the future. I have been running various special offers and will continue up until I leave for Cyprus (only going for six days so don't worry too much). When I return I will be restocking but not the leaf eating/labour intensive bugs. I will be sticking to the creatures that can be left for a few days without special care. It is our daughter's 23rd birthday next month and I can't rely on her to be living at home forever to look after the bugs. Mind you when she has children I think regular babysitting would be more than fair for a couple of weeks 'bug sitting' a year. Everything in the bug...

Easter weekend was nice, I went up to London to see the musical Sunny Afternoon. It was excellent and then I went to a country fair on Easter Sunday with the family (including Teddi, she loved it, I've never seen so many dogs). This week has however been crazy, I spent Easter Monday sorting out paperwork and doing jobs in the bug room. It is a very busy time in the bug world, probably a very busy time for anything live, plants or animals. Everything is reproducing, growing, needing care and attention. Bank holidays always play havoc with my posting days but having Friday and Monday as bank holidays meant that I was very limited as to when I could send orders both last week and this week. I managed to get the backlog sorted and thankfully had no problems with the post. I did waste a valuable morning on Wednesday when I drove all the way to west London to collect some pre-ordered Imperial scorpions only to arrive and be told that they had been sold to someone else!
