All good things must end

All good things must come to an end. The spider sale has been brilliant but it will be ending in a couple of days (probably Tuesday but I haven't made up my mind yet). Most of the general bug special offers, are set to finish this Sunday (last day of the month). We will be jetting off to Mexico on Tuesday week. I would like to make next Thursday my last day of posting before the holiday but I will probably end up posting the following Monday too. It is such a pain that there are no guaranteed deliveries at the weekend. The open day at Peregrine Livefoods last Sunday was excellent. Hubby and I really enjoyed it. I remember Dave Perry and Tim Green starting up their business all those years ago (25 years to be precise) and now it is a huge concern, employing a large number of people. We looked at many items of equipment and new products, their animal rooms and I especially enjoyed the tour around the livefood rooms. It is always interesting to see how other people do things. Obs...

Patting myself on the back

Patting myself on the back for having such a great idea! The 'make me an offer' promotion has gone better than I could ever have imagined. This week has been very busy but good fun. People have been making all sorts of offers, many have been accepted straight off but others have been too low and I have therefore given the best discount that I can. I clearly cannot sell things for less than I paid, I am cutting back for my summer holiday, not having a closing down sale! Lots of people have apologised for making a low offer, there is no need to apologise at all, it is fine to offer whatever you like. I was worried that someone else may jump in and grab the offer and this has happened but rather than being a problem it is creating a lot more interest in my website. The offers are mainly set up for one day so whoever gets in first will bag the bargain. I haven't experienced anyone being upset by this and in general I often find that when someone asks for discount there is a h...

A tough week

A tough week but thankfully hubby will be home this evening. Him being away for ten days has made my life very difficult, I am just so busy with work and family. I am very rarely ill but I have developed an ear infection this week. It has slowed me down a little but certainly hasn't stopped me! I've had some lovely emails from happy customers, over the last few days which have made me feel considerably better. The new bug room is going from strength to strength as I get more used to it. I was in my log cabin at the bottom of the garden for about nine years so it has been quite a change but I now love it. I don't know how I coped for so long, having the office and bug room next to each other has really simplified things. My cages and tanks are far better organised, I think it will be much easier for our daughter to look after the bugs when hubby and I are on holiday next month. Everything that needs misting, morning and evening is in one place and that's really the ...

Alone but coping!

Alone but coping! My hubby has gone off on his annual motorbike trip with several friends from work, he will be gone for ten days so I am praying that nothing goes wrong with my computer, website, iPhone, printer - or anything else that requires any knowledge of technology. I really wanted to put photos of my daughter's Mexican Red Knee tarantula 'celebrating' her 18th birthday (not sure she enjoyed all the attention) but I have no idea how to do it. I take loads of photos on my iPhone but putting them on the website appears to be incredibly complicated. My hubby seems to go through so many processes, even he doesn't know why the photos from my phone show up as locked on my computer. Anyway he is off whizzing around the mountains of Spain, the weather here is great but I understand it is raining in Spain today (what a shame!). I hate him going on these trips but there again he hates my bugs. I think my bugs are a lot less dangerous. I've had another busy week, ...
