How I keep mine

These Leaf insects are amazing, their beauty and camouflage is unbelievable. I am not sure of the species, they are possibly Philippine (Phyllium phillipinicum). Leaf insects like to be kept warm and humid, cleanliness and air flow are also very important. I am keeping mine in a glass tank with kitchen roll on the base. I spray the tissue once or twice a day with tepid water, I try to avoid spraying the insects themselves. The nymphs are feeding on bramble but may well feed on other plants such as rose and oak. I place the bramble in a small jar of water and pack tissue around the stems to prevent the nymphs drowning. I change the tissue every two or three days to keep the tank clean and fresh, I replace the bramble once a week. I have a small fan from Amazon that clips on the edge of my tank, I switch it on during the day and it helps the air circulate.
