How I keep mine
I keep my adult Jumping spiders in plastic sweet jars and my smaller ones in plastic tumblers but a small fish tank would work just as well. I place a piece of netting over the top of the jar and secure with an elastic band. I use coir or vermiculite on the base. It is important to add a piece of bark or twigs that reach close to the top as the spiders seem to enjoy climbing and will often sit high up. They are either seen running around hunting for food or hiding in their little silken cocoons. I feed my spiders once or twice a week on flies, crickets or bean weevils. I generally spray the jars with tepid water once a day but these spiders do prefer slightly drier conditions than most. They require some additional heat, especially during the winter. I love these spiders and have never seen any aggression in them.
