Common Name: Pumpkin Patch Tarantula
Scientific Name: Hapalopus species 'Gross'
Status: Captive bred
Country of origin - Columbia
Habitat: Ground dwelling
Suitability: Docile and not too large
My Opinion:
The Pumpkin Patch is a relatively new pet tarantula, they only seem to have been around for a few years. They don't grow very big but they are brightly coloured and appear to be pretty docile. I did have both males and females last year but sadly they didn't mature at the same time so I didn't get a chance to breed them. They are a very nice and unusual little tarantula and something different to have in a collection.

It is difficult to give a size for the spiders as stock is constantly changing. Generally, the small size is a spiderling up to 1cm body length (small will be SMALL), juvenile is a grown on spiderling with a body length of 1cm to 2cm, medium 2cm to 4cm and a large is 4cm to fully adult (but a lot depends on the species!)
I am happy to send a photo of any size tarantula spider that you are interested in, just email me!
All spiders are unsexed unless stated.
