How I keep mine
These Giant Leaf insects are spectacular and make a great display, their size, beauty and camouflage is amazing. Leaf insects like to be kept warm and humid, cleanliness and air flow are also very important. I am keeping mine in a glass tank with kitchen roll on the base. I spray the tissue once or twice a day with tepid water, I try to avoid spraying the insects themselves. The nymphs are feeding on bramble and oak but may well feed on other plants. I place the food plants in a small jar of water and pack tissue around the stems to prevent the nymphs drowning. I change the tissue every two or three days to keep the tank clean and fresh, I replace their food once a week.
